Austin Peace Academy’s Varsity Debate Team attended the UIL Debate Tournament last Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Round Rock High School. Three APA teams went undefeated against students from surrounding public schools. Gold:Zaina Thakur and Razan Hussein (Seniors)Imaad Thakur (Sophomore) and Abdullah Mohseen (Junior)Sumeya Aliyu (Sophomore) and Ilsa Siddiqui (Seniors) Silver:Maryam Khawar (Junior) and Noor Radde (Senior)Suhaib Shah (Junior) and Abdullah Al-Emoush (Senior) Three APA debaters also completed in Top Six Speakers. The Debate Program continues to improve from semester to semester and year to year. The fact our students can compete and go undefeated against others from better funded programs should be valued and appreciated as a great accomplishment for APA.
