Austin Peace Academy to Participate in the College Board’s AP Capstone ™ Program

Diploma Program Focuses on Inquiry, Research, and Writing Skills Crucial for College and Career Success

Austin Peace Academy is excited to announce its recent approval from College Board to participate in the AP Capstone™ Program—an innovative diploma program that allows students to develop the skills that matter most for college success: research, collaboration, and communication. This offers an incredible advantage to our students, which will better prepare them for life in college and beyond, and give them an edge during the college admissions process.

The program consists of two courses taken in sequence: AP® Seminar and AP Research.  Students who earn scores of 3 or higher on AP Seminar and AP Research assessments and on four additional AP Exams of their choosing will earn the AP Capstone Diploma™ along with the APA High School Distinguished Diploma.

Austin Peace Academy will start AP Seminar in the fall of 2017 for sophomores and juniors.

This program opens doors of opportunity for our young scholars.  We look forward to its implementation as it will enhance their educational experience, provide a new level of academic rigor, and foster a deeper level of thought-processing and critical thinking. More information about this exciting, outstanding program can be found in the attached brochure and online.
