APA Parents Corner

APA parents play a key role in the overall success of the school. The goal of this web page is to provide information on how the parents can help. If you have any additional thoughts or comments, please feel free to share them with us.

Randall's Good Neighbor Program

This is a reminder to all of our parents that Austin Peace Academy is a participant in Randall's Good Neighbor Program. Nearly all businesses redirect a substantial portion of their profits back into community programs. Randall's goes a step further than many such businesses by giving customers the choice of where they want funds earmarked for these programs to go. Every time you make a purchase from Randall's at least 1% of the purchase price is redirected toward community programs. APA can greatly benefit from these funds with your kind cooperation.

To ensure that the contributions go to the organization of your choice, you have to follow a few simple steps:
  • At the Randall's checkout counter, you need to give Peace Elementary School's Good Neighbor number to the checker prior to checking out.
  • He/she should then link this number to their Randall's Remarkable Card
  • Once linked, the amount of all your future purchases will automatically be recorded into Peace Elementary School's account
  • The Good Neighbor Number for Peace Elementary School is: 8270

Albertson's Community Partners Program

This is a reminder to all of our Parents that Austin Peace Academy is a participant in Albertson's Community Partners Program. Nearly all businesses redirect a substantial portion of their profits back into community programs. Albertson's go a step further than many such businesses by giving customers the choice of where they want funds earmarked for these programs to go. Every time you make a purchase from Albertson's, about 2% to 5% is redirected toward such programs. APA can greatly benefit from these funds with your kind cooperation.

To ensure that the contributions go to the organization of your choice, you have to follow a few simple steps.
  • You need to pick up from us an Albertson's Community Partners Card that has Austin Peace Academy's name along with our unique number printed on it
  • You need to then take that card with you to Albertson's and remind the cashier to scan the card anytime during the order
  • Transactions properly recorded should print the words "Community Partner" on the receipt
Last year we gave out nearly 100 Community Partners cards to different members of our community and we still have some cards available. The amount of money we have been getting from Albertson's has declined dramatically from the amount we were receiving last year, apparently because those who were using the cards in the past are forgetting to remind the cashier to scan it when they are making their purchase. We want to remind everyone who already has such a card to use it and those who do not have such a card to pick one up at our office. Using these cards can provide us with substantial funds.

Box Tops For Education Program

This year Austin Peace Academy will be participating in the Box Tops for Education program. This program involves collecting "box tops" (see example) from various consumer products, such as cereals, frozen foods, and snacks. Each box top collected will bring $0.10 for the school, and up to $20,000 will be given to Austin Peace Academy.

Please clip any box tops and return them to your student's teacher or to the APA office or place them in any box in the school with the Box Top logo on it.

These box tops can be found on many products including, but not limited to:
  • General Mills Cereals: Cheerios, Chex, Wheaties, Total, Lucky Charms, Trix, Cocoa Puffs, Cookie Crisp, Kix, Raisin Nut Bran, etc.
  • Refrigerated and Dairy Products: Pillsbury products, Yoplait yogurt
  • Taco Products: Old El Paso products such as taco shells
  • Frozen Foods: Pillsbury, Totino's Pizza Snacks
  • Baking Products: Betty Crocker products
  • Storage Containers: any Ziploc product
These are just a few of the products eligible for the Box Tops for Education Program. Please visit Box Tops 4 Education website for more details.

Please remember to clip those box tops, and thank you very much for helping the Austin Peace Academy.

Kripsy Kreme Campaign

Our first fundraiser for the new school year will be Krispy Kreme doughnut partnership cards. Just in time for Ramadan! Buy one for yourself and one for family or friends. Each card costs $10 and entitles you to "buy one get one free" for a dozen doughnuts purchased at Krispy Kreme. These cards make great Eid gifts, too!

Austin Peace Academy receives $5.00 for each card sold and will use these funds for books, school equipment and operating expenses. Support your school and help your child sell as many as possible!

We have sent the Krispy Kreme Collection Envelopes in your child's folder. Please assist your child in taking pre-orders for the Partnership cards and collecting the cash in advance. Put all cash in the envelope and seal and return it to your child's teacher no later than Wednesday, September 14. We can begin distributing cards as early as September 8, insha'allah.

Thank you for your continued support and encouragement!
