This year, APA students participated in the Math and Spelling Contest organized by the Private Schools Interscholastic Association (PSIA) for the first time ever. The contest took place on March 8th in New Braunfels, TX. Fifteen of our students from Grades 4th thru’ 8th, represented APA at the contest.
Alhamdulillah, I am delighted to share with you the great news that the performance of our students in this contest was excellent. APA secured SECOND PLACE overall as a school in 4th-8th grade math and spelling contests, with the following results:
- 4th Grade Math - 3rd and 6th Places
- 5th Grade Math - 1st, 2nd, and 5th Places
- 7th Grade Math - 4th and 6th Places
- 8th Grade Math - 5th Place
- 4th Grade Spelling - 5th Place
- 5th Grade Spelling - 6th Place
- 6th Grade Spelling - 2nd Place
- 7th Grade Spelling - 3rd and 5th Places
- 8th Grade Spelling - 1st and 6th Places
We appreciate the hard work and effort of all our students who participated in this contest. Congratulations to all of them!!
We specially thank our teachers and parents who played very important roles in preparing our students for the contests. Parental involvement was a key to our students’ success and achievements.
On Wed, March 19th, during the morning assembly, we will recognize all the winners. We invite all parents to attend, celebrate, and encourage our kids.
PSIA mission is to inspire students’ achievement through academic competition. Over 500 students from Austin, Bastrop, New Braunfels, San Angelo, San Antonio, San Marcos, and other local cities have participated. Those students who were placed first and second in the various subjects will compete again at the state level contest on April 26th and May 3rd in Fort Worth, TX.
