Austin Peace Academy placed second in the State in the December 2009 Texas Math League competition. The Texas Math League is a statewide math competition entered by the strongest public and private schools in Texas. APA was the only private school to place in the top seven schools in in this year’s competition.

While a score of 90 is considered a perfect team score, APA scored 89! Other Travis county schools such as Austin High School also fared well with a score of 86 and St. Stephen’s of Austin scored an 80.The Texas Math League honors all students receiving a perfect score. This year Najmu Mohseen, Ahlam Qerkez, and Abdul Kerkez all received perfect scores. Receiving recognition for honorable mention was Dina Shalab.
