APA becomes first Islamic School in Texas to join 4-H PDF Print E-mail

On October 6th, seven Austin Peace Academy students were invited to participate in a ceremony at the county courthouse. Sr. Rania El Baraday and Alex Pritchard accompanied the students. The students were introduced to the county commissioners and the county judge by a good friend of APA, Tahira Malik, one of the leaders of 4 H in Texas.

The students represented APA and were acknowledged as being the first Islamic School in Texas to become a member of the 4 H organization. This organization offers a wide variety of ways for students to participate. Meetings at APA will begin shortly. Donald T. Floyd, Jr., National 4-H Council president and CEO explained just part of the value of 4 H when he said,  “It has been shown that engaging youth in scientific exploration early sparks a lasting interest in the sciences.”

Parents who would like their children to engage science early in school should follow our website for announcements of upcoming 4 H meetings. To learn more about the 4-H organization, visit http://4-h.org/
