Congratulations to Austin Peace Academy seventh grader, Nada Aljamal for having the second place overall finisher in the DimensionM Public and Private school math contest. Students from all over Austin met at the Delco Center to engage in a high-tech computer gaming event. Strategy, quickness, and the ability answer math questions at light speed are needed to excel in this competition. We are all very proud of Nada’s achievement .
DimensionM is an immersive 3D video game world that engages students in learning and applying mathematics. Standards-based objectives are covered through a series of missions that bring math into a context that today’s students understand. Students become so captivated in solving the problems in the game that they forget they’re learning…but not what they’ve learned.
The APA teams are gearing up for another competition to be held on May 15th at the Delco Center.
