On Tuesday, August 18th, the middle school and high school students from Austin Peace Academy spent a few hours enjoying the company of their old friends from APA as well as having a chance to spend quality time with their new student friends, returning teachers, and their new teachers.  Sr. Diana Abdi, our new interim Principal, planned the day very well. Students attended classes until 10:30 am and then departed for Austin Park n Pizza.  Sr. Diana commented, “The students were well behaved and made our school proud”.

The returning students welcomed several new students to the middle and high school as well as new teachers Heather Swanson and Alex Pritchard. Heather commented, “It was a great day for fun and team building. I was able to see the students in a completely different light. It was so much fun and worthwhile.”  Alex said, “This was a great way to help all of our students build friendships, old and new. I learned more names and got to know more students in four hours than I could have learned in two weeks at school. Oh, and driving go carts was really fun, too.”

The group was very excited to have Sheik Dremali going along. The students were excited to spend time with him and to see his health improving each day.
