Dear Students and Parents,

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the holy month of Ramadhan.  Muslims around the world observe Ramadhan each year during the ninth month of the Islamic calendar.  It is a time when all Muslims refrain from consuming any form of nourishment from dawn to sunset and are encouraged to perfect their morals in this month by practicing patience, charity, self-sacrifice, and extended prayers.

Once again we welcome it, once again it welcomes us. This month will be, for each of us, what we shall make of it. Let it be a month of introspection and prayer to all that are fortunate enough to witness its return.

We wish everyone a beautiful month of Ramadan. May it be a month of teaching where gift wins over avarice, generosity over selfishness, love over hatred. Be it a month where everyone tries to master one’s anger: the Prophet (PBUH) advised once to respond to adversity during these days of meditation: “I am fasting”…. and to pass over. Be it a month where every one of us cares more than usual for the needy people in her/his nearest environment.

Ramadhan Mubarak to all of you! May your fast and prayers be accepted and blessed in this holy month.

Jazakum Allahu Khairan.
