Dear Parents: Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi
Wa Barakatuhu
We would like to welcome you to the start of a great academic year at APA by
asking that you attend a very important meeting on Saturday, August 8th between
12:00-3:00 pm at the school. The elementary school meeting will
begin at noon and the middle and high school meeting will begin after prayers
or around 1:30 pm. Between these meetings we will also serve a
light lunch. There are many exciting changes at APA and it is
important for parents to hear about them before the start of the school year.
A few of the highlights of the meeting that you
don’t want to miss:
· Introduce the new Director of Academic Affairs for the
Middle School and High School and discuss how his responsibilities will affect
each family on a wide range of issues.
· Introduce all of the new faculty members in the
preschool, elementary, middle, and high school for the 2009-2010 school
year. We also want you to meet the new school counselor.
· Discuss the electives for the high school students and
allow parents to sign up for these classes. If parents don’t sign up then
students will be assigned to the class by the school administration.
· Discuss the new procedures for parent conferences and
for greater parental involvement in school affairs. We will also discuss
parent pickup procedures for after school.
· Discuss new disciplinary procedures that affect all
students. New homework policies, testing polices, and the required
planner for students will also be highlighted.
·
Discuss the importance of Teacher Ease, the new
uniforms for this year, the discipline matrix, and draw your attention to other
important school dates.
· Parents will also be informed of the additions of
co-curricular programs that will be exciting for their students.
We hope this event also serves as a wonderful social time to see parents and
teachers that you haven’t seen all summer! Everyone at APA
appreciates outstanding parental involvement in the school.
Students know when their parents are attending school events and they take
pride in knowing their parents care about their education. Please
don’t miss this opportunity to get our school off to a great start!
This should be our best year for Austin Peace Academy.
Respectfully,
Dr. Walid Hawana,
Alex
Pritchard,
Principal
