Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wabarakatuh
The third quarter has finished and we are getting ready to announce major achievements, and more. The teachers’ hard work, students’ perseverance, and parents’ dedication are our great assets indeed. Nothing is more rewarding to us than seeing students competing, achieving, and planning for their studies, tests, assignments, and school activities.
Have we told you about our students’ PSIA results? Our school was ranked 2nd among more than 10 private schools (about 550 students) from San Antonio, New Braunsfel, Austin, and San Marcos. Our students have shined and proved that their hard work and their parents’ support have paid off. The APA winners will compete in Fort Worth on May 2nd at a State level competition, with other private schools/students. In Shaa’ Allah we will win again and APA will stand out even more!
SAT is a key standardized test for high school students to take, in order to gain admissions to colleges and universities in the US. On March 14th, 2009, APA held the first national SAT test at our school. Students from different school districts in Austin, and from out of town too, came to take their test at APA. It is an honor for our institution to be recognized to administer this kind of academic test.
Everyone is busy at the school. We are fortunate to have such chemistry among teachers and parents. The PTO is working to publish the school Year Book for 2008-2009. It will be ready very soon for sale. The PTO has also sponsored staff activities, in and out of the school.
The Students’ Council is sponsoring activities to collect funds for the APA beautification project. They are constantly reviewing their plans with their teacher/mentor to do the thing right! They developed their own website to show their goals and activities. They are learning the value of cooperation, leadership, proper communications, planning, executing, evaluation, and responsibility!
Students and teachers are having fun. More field trips have taken place at all grade levels! Teachers enjoyed a couple of night outs with few parents and few middle and high school students. PTO, teachers, and students got together to put the APA Annual Spring Carnival, and other types of extra curricular activities, like the “Land of Israa.”
After the fire incident which took place at the school last January, and the disruption that took place, everything went smooth after 3 days, and now after 3 months all is back to normal. We depended on Allah (SWT) to guide us through this ordeal, and we were tolerant and patient. We cooperated with one another for the best of the school and the community:
“All is well that ends well!” Alhamdullillah!
Jazakum Allahu Khairan
