Dear APA Parents ,

I would like to thank all the parents and staff for your continued support  for the Saturday fundraising event held on the 28th of January 2012.  Each year APA continues to advance in its mission to improve the student’s life.  The goal of APA is to continue to make a difference in the education. With the help of supporters like you we will continue to maintain exemplary improvement in student’s education.

This month we have a list of activity that I need you to schedule on your calendar : 

Parenting Workshops
Saturday, February 4th – Parenting principles according to the Quran and Sunnah by  Dr.Mohammed Beshir .

UIL  Connally  Debate and Speech Tournament
Saturday, February 18th, the high school students will attend their final UIL Debate and Speech Tournament held at Connally High School in Pflugerville, Texas.

Science Fair Regional for Middle School  
Thursday, February 23rd - Austin regional science fair will take at Place at Palmer Event Center . Students need to be next to their project at 1:15 p.m .

PSIA 
Friday, February 24th: Private school Interscholastic Association will take place at the Immanuel Lutheran School  located  382 N Grimes  ,Giddings , TX  78942 . The bus will leave from Austin Peace Academy promptly at 6am .  There will be no school for the students who are not participating in PSIA .

 
Science Fair Regional for Elementary School
Saturday , February 25th –  The event will take place at Palmer event center .  Students from Grade 1-3 need to be there at 10:30 a.m  . Students in Grade 4 & 5, need to be at the site at 8:15 a.m

Marathon Kids
Saturday , February 25th –Austin final miles for Marathon kids and earn your finisher medal at AISD’S Toney Burger Stadium on 3200 Jones Road , Austin , Texas at 11:00 a.m

I would like to inform you of the events for the month of November. The teacher’s or department’s in charge of the event will send detailed information for each event.

Hajj Play- November 4th
A Hajj simulation performance will take place on Friday, November 4th led by Shiekh Umer .
 
EID DAY- November 9th -2011
 Eid party is on Wednesday November 9th.  This event will take place at Reunion Ranch in Georgetown.  Parents are welcome to join there is no extra fee.  There will be team-building activities for Middle and High school at the ranch . The cost for student is $20 which includes the transportation fee. This is the 4th day of Eid we highly encourage you to follow in the teaching  of the Prophet ( PBUH) . After all, Allah (SWT) has given us these occasions purposely for us to celebrate. Lets think about how we can make Eid special and instill in our children a love of Eid which will always remain in them. The Prophet (PBUH) said to Abu Bakr, "Every people (nation) has a festival and this (Eid) is ours." (Bukhari & Muslim).
 
Capitol Food Bank – November 23rd
 On November 23rd the high school students will have the opportunity to unload the storage pod at the Capital Area Food Bank at 9:30 a.m -noon located on 8201 South Congress ave.
 
There will be no school November 7th& 8thand November 23rd –November 25th
