Curriculum

At Austin Peace Academy, we seek to educate the total child. The curriculum is challenging and geared toward the objective of preparing our students to excel in all their endeavors. We recognize that each student is an individual and thus the curriculum needs to be flexible enough to meet the needs of every student. The small class sizes enable teachers to tailor the educational experience to each individual student. When this need is met, the curriculum is challenging to every student while at the same time no student is overwhelmed. Our ultimate aim is for each student to reach his or her full potential.

Our curriculum objectives are adopted from the standards published by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and are known as the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) objectives. These objectives can be seen online at http://www.tea.state.tx.us/teks. In addition to academic and intellectual objectives, the TEA guide outlines social, aesthetic and physical objectives that should be met by students at each level of their education.

Austin Peace Academy's curriculum is generally accelerated, and its students are challenged to perform consistently beyond grade-level. The achievement of this goal can be observed in the excellent scores of Austin Peace Academy students on standardized tests.
